Grandmother's recipe with a creative twist

At Barbecook we are not afraid to think out of the box, so we were looking for a way to make grandmother’s recipe of chicory rolls Barbecook/BBQ proof. Barbecook has a huge range of accessories. From lighting tools to cleaning tools and from bamboo boards to spatulas, tongs and knives. Plenty of choice! For our chicory with bacon, we use Barbecook’s cast iron grill pan.

Preparation of chicory rolls with bacon on the BBQ

For an efficient BBQ session, we recommend that you prepare a few things in advance in the kitchen. Fill a pot with water and let it boil. Cook the chicory for 4 minutes with half a teaspoon of salt and sugar. Then let the chicory cool down and squeeze out the excess liquid. Roll the chicory in the bacon until you have nice rolls.

For this unique recipe of chicory with bacon we choose the Barbecook Kamal.

Place the chicory with bacon in the Barbecook grill pan. Season with pepper and salt. Place the pan centrally on your grid and grill until the bacon rolls are crispy. Then remove the chicory and bacon from the grill. Sprinkle with Gruyère cheese. Because the chicory rolls are still hot, the cheese will melt. Delicious!
