Maintenance of your charcoal barbecue

Every barbecue needs a thorough maintenance from time to time, whether it is a charcoal barbecue, a gas barbecue or even an electric barbecue. Only then you can enjoy delicious and safe barbecue parties for years. In this article we will tell you what you should pay attention to when maintaining your charcoal barbecue. Barbecook offers different types of charcoal barbecues including the Loewy and the Edson models. Each of these are top products that are worthy of thorough maintenance!

Maintenance of your charcoal barbecue

Enamelled parts

The Loewy and the Edson charcoal barbecues consist of some enameled parts such as the barbecue bowl. Enameled elements are very easy to maintain. You can use abrasive cleaners and sponges to get rid of the coarse dirt. Be careful though: never pour cold water into an enameled bowl that is still warm. This can damage the enamel. So, don’t start cleaning too quickly after your BBQ party, but wait until everything has cooled down. Barbecook's barbecue foam cleaner is also a handy tool. You spray this foam on the dirty parts, let it soak in and then rinse it off with a sponge and some water.

Stainless steel parts

To clean stainless steel parts you shouldn’t use aggressive products or scouring pads. Choose a mild detergent and a soft sponge or cloth. Let the product soak in, rinse thoroughly and dry thoroughly. Do you want to avoid rust? Then make sure that stainless steel parts do not come into contact with chlorine, salt or iron.

The barbecue grid

Preferably make sure that your grill is still hot when you clean it. This way the dirt comes along much easier. Use one of the many cleaning accessories of Barbecook to scrub your grid clean. You can use the 3-in-1 long brushthe long spiral brush or how about the grill cleaner, a volcanic pumice stone that takes the shape of your grid after some time? Plenty of possibilities! Another tip: completely lubricate your grid with a lemon, let it penetrate for 2 hours and then wipe away the dirt with a brush and cloth or sponge. Always dry thoroughly afterwards!

If you plan to store your barbecue for some time, then rub your grid lightly with vegetable oil after cleaning and wrap it in paper. Store indoors. You should also put your barbecue in a well-ventilated area with a Barbecook cover over it.

Good riddance!
