In the weekend of 2, 3 & 4 September 2022, 80 international teams from around the world will travel to Torhout for the World Championship of barbecue. The teams compete against each other and have to prepare six predefined recipes within certain timeframes. The preparations will be judged by a certified jury. In addition, each of the teams will have the opportunity to prepare a speciality of their own country: "cooking from the homeland". The participants can also win prizes with this dish. Besides a competition, the World Championship barbecue is one big party. The event is open to the general public, who can enjoy some entertainment, delicious barbecue delicacies and much more.

No one less than Barbecook is the proud main sponsor of this international barbecue event. We will be present throughout the weekend with a stand and will be giving several entertaining demos on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. The participating teams will be using our Oskar smokers to prepare their dishes on.

The Fielesoofen are a bunch of Belgian friends who are united by their love of barbecue. Their fire cannot be extinguished. Fire, food, friendship & fun is what they stand for. They have participated in many competitions and have also organized several events and competitions themselves. The Fielesoofen are part of the World Barbecue Association (WBQA), an organization that aims to unite barbecue enthusiasts around the world - with members from Europe, America and Africa.
