Winter barbecue

The attire :

Caps, scarfs, shrouds, thick sweaters and coats are for sure not lacking on a real winter barbecue! Ski fanatics can arrange it as an after-ski barbecue: take those ski pants, - coat and socks out of that closet, and don’t forget your ski glasses to complete your look!

The music :

The musical possibilities on a winter barbecue are unlimited. If you rather have it quiet, use some of your old classical music. If you have company who rather warms up by dancing, go for songs like I’m Into Folk (The Radios), Pump Up The Jam (Technotronic), La Bamba (Los Lobos), The Final Countdown (Europe), I Want You To Want Me (Cheap Trick), I Will Survive (Gloria Gaynor) etc. If you are arranging your winter barbecue around the end of the year, choose Christmas music like Last Christmas (Wham), Feliz Navidad, Merry Christmas Everyone, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Driving Home For Christmas (Chris Rea) etc.

The decor:

Winter is synonym for dark early, so make sure to have enough lights and candles, with which you can create a super cosy atmosphere too! Place a barbecook® firebasket or barbecook® garden fire around which your guests can warm themselves. If the weathermen did not forecast good weather, then provide a cosily arranged party tent  (lights, tea-warmers...). If you arrange your winter barbecue according to the ski theme, then put out the wooden tables and benches, put skis in your garden and give your guests a one evening ski pass. If the sky is the limit, for sure hire a snow gun!

Typical food and drinks :

Opposite to a summer barbecue, during the winter you for sure should choose warm vegetables, potatoes and/or pasta beside cold greens. Delicious zucchini, carrots or broccoli – enough choice in the winter! Perfect warm-ups after dinner are jin, glühwein or chocolate milk (possibly with a shot of rum).
